Being assertive can be difficult for many people, for many different reasons. Many people get confused between assertiveness and being aggressive. Aggressiveness violates the rights of others which can lead to feelings of resentment or mistrust whereas assertiveness is a respectful communication of your own rights
 
This 3 hour training course will teach you the skills to be assertive. You will become aware of your own values, boundaries and needs and it will help you to express yourself clearly and in an assertive manner in a range of different situations. It will empower you to express yourself in an open and honest way and help you build strong, respectful and supportive relationships with others.

  • Understand the definition of assertiveness
  • Consider reasons why you are unassertive
  • Explore the different behaviour styles
  • Develop the fundamental assertiveness skills
  • Demonstrate assertiveness behaviour
