This year the Government is introducing Tax-Free Childcare. In the recent Budget, the Chancellor confirmed that Tax-Free Childcare will be rolling out shortly, following the completion of the current trial, through which HMRC are testing the service with parents.
Tax-Free Childcare will be introduced from next month, in a controlled way. It will then gradually roll out - parents of younger children will be able to apply first and all eligible parents will be able to benefit by the end of this year. Parents will be able to apply for all of their children at the same time, when their youngest child qualifies.
The aim of this gradual rollout is to ensure that the scheme is introduced in a safe and managed way, and that the service runs smoothly for parents.
Parents across the UK will be able to apply for Tax-Free Childcare through a digital childcare service.
Parents can now sign up to receive an email update
which will notify them when they are able to apply.
A further announcement from HMRC about Tax-Free Childcare will be made soon.
